Scientists from Bristol University, England have created a nuclear diamond battery. This battery can charge any small electronic device for thousands of years. Scientists have found that this battery contains a radioactive substance called carbon-14, whose half-life is 5730 years. This means that your electronic device will continue to get energy for years.
How was this battery made?
Till now you must have heard about the use of diamonds only in making jewellery. Scientists have made batteries with its help. Scientists at Bristol University have inserted radioactive material inside diamond to make the battery. These two substances together generate electricity, which will provide energy to your device and as long as the device is healthy, there will be no need to charge it.

In nuclear diamond batteries, radiation occurs due to carbon-14 and diamond. Due to this radiation, electrons rotate rapidly, which produces electricity.
